On behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology, it is my pleasure and honor to welcome all of you on this auspicious occasion.
I would like to especially welcome the distinguished scientists who have come from other countries.
We are fortunate to have you here in Thailand at this ground-breaking event and I hope you will enjoy the opportunity of seeing our new green government centre while meeting your fellow participants.
GISTDA was established to provide satellite data services, including the reception, processing, archiving and dissemination of remotely sensed data. We have learned much, for example how to control our own satellite, to receive data from THEOS worldwide, and to distribute remote sensing and other geographic data. We have also been able to network with our colleagues around the world and join them in this exciting new frontier of science. I am also very proud that the quality of the products of GISTDA is good and meets the needs of our clients.
This new Imagineering Centre would bring their talented staffs together under one roof. It would also allow GISTDA to improve their capability, improve their services to their key customers, and facilitate their collaboration with scientists around the world.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the chairman, and the board of directors of GISDTA, the management and staffs and everyone who has contributed to make this happy occasion possible. I join you in looking forward to an exciting and fruitful future.
